The Black Letter Event

From Bob:

In 2006, on the way home from Origins, Dave C and I were making plans for Gen Con. We were running a ridiculous number of games, but we wanted to do something special. We came up with the idea of running an off-the-books game for some of the great players who attended our events.

From that conversation, YTCC’s annual Black Letter Event sprung. Each year, one of the team takes the lead and organizes the event. The entire team is involved in the creative process. It’s an impressive collaborative effort that is a lot of work, and even more fun. We are fortunate to have some very talented people who come up with incredible plots and incredible props help bring our ideas to life.

At Gen Con, YTCC runs a track of 12 qualifier games. One player from each of these games is chosen by his or her peers to represent their table at the Black Letter Event. It’s a 12-player game, with an almost equal number of Keepers. We also like to include parts for other players as Extras. It’s madness and chaos at its finest.
